Online Learning Consortium
March 15, 2017 – APUS received a fifth Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Effective Practice Award. This year for “Applying a Group Coaching and Mentoring Framework to Shift an Organization Culture" – a university coaching and mentoring initiative designed to strengthen the principles and practices of teaching excellence.
October 30, 2014 – APUS received an unprecedented fourth Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Effective Practice Award. This year for “Bringing the Library to Life: Live Librarian Instruction in a First-Year Online Course.”

January 10, 2012 – APUS’s School of Business was inducted as the Mu Zeta Chapter into the Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society, which recognizes superior scholastic achievements for graduate and undergraduate students studying business administration.

Presidential Management Fellows Program
To date, over 75 university graduate students and alumni have been selected as Presidential Management Fellows finalists.
March 22, 2023- Thirteen master's degree students have been named Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) Finalists for the Class of 2023.
June 11, 2018 – Business, Security & Global Studies alumni named PMF finalists for class of 2018.
May 5, 2015 – Seven APUS graduate students and alumni were selected as 2015 Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) finalists from among more than 7,800 applicants.
White House Fellows Program
March 16, 2009 — Two AMU graduates were selected to the White House Fellows program that offers Fellows first-hand experience working at the highest levels of government to get a sense of personal involvement in the leadership of society.
LTG Richard G. Trefry U.S. Army Achievement Award
April 23, 2009 – The Lieutenant General Richard G. Trefry Lifetime of Service Award was created in honor of APUS Trustee, Lieutenant General Richard G. Trefry (Ret.), the award can be presented to current or former members of the Army and Department of the Army Civilians who show a lifetime of extraordinary service to the Army.
Persistence Plus Receives $25,000 APUS Prize for Innovation in Online Education
